tie dye

 Hey Guys,

I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer. My summer has officailly started since finishing my CAD course. Can you believe we are celebrating the 4th so soon?

Okay, as of lately you know I've been talk about the 90's trending. This "casual, walking to school outfit" has definite elements of the 90's, umm tie dye! Love! The 90's are making a major come back this year and I have to admit, I am loving it. The best part about trending decades' past is that if you missed out on trends then, you have a second chance at it now.  My chance has come for the "Carrie" name necklace, which I always wanted as a teenager. My "Shao" (my husband's last name)  has made its way around my neck, permanently. (Well for now at least.) I highly recommend this necklace if you are looking for an everyday dainty look.

I wonder if the bubble jackets will make its way back in the coming years? Everyone was wearing it in Japan this past winter.  Yes, I had a bright banana yellow bubble jacket in the 90's. What was your favorite 90's trend?

its hammer time... nino brand launch

Hey guys,

Last Thursday I attended a fashion brand launch, Nino Brand. Bela Shehu, the designer behind the brand hosted a beautiful party with Philly’s most fashionable. It was nice to see so many familiar faces and meeting some cool new ones. ;)

Nino brand consistent of architectural pieces with a palette of black, grey and white. I could see myself sporting one of there effortless but yet edgy pieces. Check her out here!

Being that I am petite, I paired the oversized and dropped crotch harem pants with a fitted vest. In my opinion, clothing should be paired with their opposites. If you wear something tight on top, pair it with looser bottoms. If something is overtly sexy, like a mini skirt. I tend to pair it with a flowy or long sleeve shirt. My rule of them is opposite attracts! (and make things more interesting!)

Hanging out with Jacqui from Burgundy Whisper.

What do you think of the look? Would you ever wear hammer pants?

philly dot com

Hi guys,

My good friend Jane and Paul were in town last week. Which of course means amazing pictures for the blog and unbuckling my belt a notch or two. Jane and Paul are huge foodies, as are we. We spent the majority of their 5 day visit, eating at our favorite spots and discovering  new gems along the way. Pumpkin, a rustic, farm-to-table style American food was one of the best meals I've had thus far in Philly. A must try if you are in the Philadelphia area.

mexican wedding

Hi guys,

Leon and I attended a beautiful wedding on the west coast of Mexico last week. Congrats Adam & Kimberly! We were on Cloud 9 lounging at the St. Regis Hotel. I could probably die in the bed,  tub or one of their multi-level infinity pools. sigh.... is it not the most depressing feeling to have to leave paradise?

If you are the west coast, flights from L.A. are about 3.5 hours, or so I heard. I would highly recommend staying at the St. Regis Punta Mita. The service was impeccable. Oh, did I mention our room came with a butler? Leon and I looked at each other and maybe peed our pants a bit from excitement. Not that we fully utilized his services, he did unpacked our bags (it was awesome, haha) but the idea was pretty awesome. (Probably our first and last butler....sad to leave you too, Christian.)

I am so so so madly in love with the dress! It is a 1920’s silk chiffon dress with a hand dyed slip. Actually, it was a skirt that i converted to a dress but it can be worn multiple ways. There is also a shirt to complete the set! Its so so so beautiful!!!! I love love love it! Can you tell I am excited? Can’t wait to shoot the entire outfit!

I paired the look with my vintage Chanel necklaces, an old jewelry box/turned clutch, (I picked up at a thrift store for a few bucks) and the  classic Pigalle Louboutin.

Folk and knife in hand! Ready for Din Din! Get in my belly!

Partying and drinking with the boys!

We also celebrated our First Year Anniversary! All in all a wonderful wedding, vacation and great way to round out our first year as Mr. & Mrs.
